14th week of pregnancy

You have finally reached your second trimester. Your baby is growing more and more. At this moment your little on might be between 3.2 to 4 inches and about 1.52 ounces in weight. He is just about the size of a lemon. This week you will have several options of planning you prenatal tests for the coming weeks. If you already have discussed it with you doctor he might offer you with two options, one is to have an amniocentesis (14 to 18 weeks after your LMP) on your next checkup, or have an AFP test -15 to 21 weeks after your LMP.

At your 14th week of pregnancy, you will finally look more pregnant as you will have your baby bump. You might still feel tired and a bit fatigued even if your probably not experiencing any nausea anymore. Be aware that this week you might experiencing some growing pains, this is caused by your baby as it pushes aside you internal organs. More tight space in your stomach will probably cause more heartburn, indigestion, and flatulence. You might continue to take bathroom breaks more frequently because your bladder has less room for it to expand. And as your baby bump grows, sleeping might be more difficult too.

They say that for pregnant women, having your clothes is almost similar to being totally robbed. You don't fit on your clothes anymore? Its is because your baby bump is growing and if you can’t stretch the zipper of your favorite fit jeans anymore, you are in for some serious shopping spree mommy. You will most likely start from the very beginning reset your wardrobe for clothes that you will only be wearing for a few months. As for this moment it is wise to buy clothes that you will wear more often in your remaining months before giving birth. Starting your wardrobe all over again doest have to be expensive, you don't have to buy many clothes, instead of buying a full wardrobe pick only the basic ones then add accessories to aim for  more versatility. Mostly, jeans are the first item to be bought by women. Choose wisely, before you decide, try on several pairs. For t-shirts, pick ones that matches with your jeans. Black pants are definitely a must as it hides your expanding body contour, white shirts will also match your pants for a dressier look.

Your baby now will wiggle more often. He will move more but due to his small size you might probable wont feel it much you baby-to-be’s face will have more detail and much more distinguishable as his ears move closer to their final positions. Even though his lungs is still filled with fluid and not air, he may have some hiccups too. You can visit your doctor and ask him to hear the baby’s heartbeat. Using a device called Doppler you are able to hear your baby’s heart beating softly. You might also hear more beatings if you’re carrying twins or more.
